Best Flatiron Hotels
1. The New York EDITION

Location: 5 Madison Avenue (at 24th Street)
Every morning, I walk through Madison Square Park with my coffee in hand, dodging the runners, and soon see the New York EDITION rise up, a Beaux-Arts icon that reflects the meeting of historic New York and the contemporary energy of the Flatiron. This is on of the best Flatiron hotels.
The rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that frame great views of the Flatiron Building or the Empire State Building.
All rooms have a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with deliciously soft towels, an invitation to slow down and enjoy.
When I get hungry, I head to the Clocktower. Is the lobster roll expensive? Yes. But it’s worth every penny, it’s the perfect treat for a memorable trip.
Citibikes are a stones throw away, perfect for pedaling to the Union Square farmers market—and be sure to try the artisanal bagels! Rooms range from $500 to $700 a night, but the free Wi-Fi, concierge services, and convenient location make the EDITION a worthwhile investment.
Nearby subway lines easily connect you to Penn Station, Bryant Park, Times Square. The closest airport is LaGuardia (which is just a short cab ride away).
💡 My local tip:
Have lunch at the Clocktower, then head to Birch Coffee on 27th. It’s my favorite place to soak up the energy of Madison Square Park.
2. The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad

Best Flatiron Hotels
3. Ned NoMad Hotel
Location: 25 West 28th Street
Another one of the best Flatiron hotels. Whenever I walk to my favorite deli on 28th Street, I can’t help but notice the glass tower of The Ritz-Carlton NoMad.
With a modern touch that transforms the neighborhood, it’s a strong contender among the best hotels in the Flatiron District.
If you’ve come to New York wanting to splurge, this is the place. The rooms are spacious, have air conditioning, spacious bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, elegant desks and, with a bit of luck, a breathtaking view; yes, you might wake up facing the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty.
Ideal for couples, celebrations, or for those who simply want to upgrade their stay.
The highlight? Literally. Nubeluz, a rooftop bar, is one of my favorite places in the city.
Zaytinya’s brunch is also worth mentioning: the shakshuka with warm pita bread is the perfect choice for a lazy Sunday after strolling through Madison Square Park. The gym with views of the city invites you to work out in style.
Room rates range from $600 to $900, with free Wi-Fi and a strategic location, steps from Madison Square Park.
🏆 Why it’s a hit:
Luxury with a contemporary touch, ideal for those who love good food, photography and views of New York.
💡 My local tip:
Reserve your place at Nubeluz on the website in advance, because it’s worth every second on the rooftop at sunset. Afterwards, pop into the 28th Street Flower Market. It’s a charming neighborhood that only those in the know can enjoy.

4. Hotel Giraffe by Library Hotel Collection
Location: 1170 Broadway (at 28th Street)
The Ned is the kind of building that breathes history, a classic with an artistic soul, right in the heart of the Flatiron District. And honestly?
The Ned is one of my favorites among the best hotels in the area.
The rooms are pure charm and beauty. You walk in and find modern art reproductions on the walls, coffeemakers waiting for your first caffeine fix, and air conditioning that turns any New York summer into a refreshing experience.
Cecconi’s, the hotel’s restaurant, is my weakness. Thin, crispy pizzas with melting cheese and a glass of red wine, it feels like you’re living in a movie.
I’ve taken friends there just to share a laugh (and a slice) during happy hour. Ask about the hidden terrace, called “The Neds Club” that is a members only, maybe if you are lucky they will let you in.
With room rates between $400 and $600, free Wi-Fi and sharp concierge services, the Ned NoMad is the kind of hotel that makes even locals want to spend a night away from home.
Why it’s a winner: An artistic retreat with a modern twist and creative vibe, just steps from everything that matters.
My local tip: Order a pizza from Cecconi’s at the counter to mingle with New Yorkers. Then, don’t miss the Nomad Flea Market on Sundays, where you might come across a gem!

Location: 365 Park Avenue South (at 26th Street)
The Giraffe Hotel is a cozy hideaway. It’s makes the list as one of the best Flatiron hotels, with modern, non-smoking rooms.
When my parents came to visit, this is where they stayed, and they still rave about the comfortable beds, flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, and that jazzy charm that only a well-done boutique hotel can offer.
Wine and cheese nights (5-8 p.m.) are my little weekly treat, a neighborhood get-together where I’ve swapped stories with New Yorkers and tourists alike over a nice Merlot.
It’s the kind of experience that makes you feel like you’re part of the neighborhood. The rooftop terrace is my favorite spot for morning coffee, with views that reach Rockefeller Center—a photo op is a must. This is on the 12th floor.
Room service saves the day for late-night snacks, and the concierge at the front desk is a master at putting together personalized itineraries, whether it’s a stroll through the West Village or a bike ride to Central Park.
Rooms ($300 to $500) offer great value with free Wi-Fi, and nearby subway stations can get you to LaGuardia Airport or the New York Public Library in a jiffy.
Why it’s a win: A great boutique hotel with style, comfort, and a fair price.
My take: Go during wine hour for the free appetizers, then head down to Shake Shack on 23rd, our favorite spot for a juicy burger.
Best Flatiron Hotels
5. Freehand New York
Location: 23 Lexington Avenue
The Freehand New York, housed in the former George Washington Hotel building, is one of my favorite Flatiron hotels, it’s just steps from The Friends Experience.
It’s one of the best Flatiron hotels for cool travelers, with rooms that mix modern art on the walls, flat-screen TVs, and air-conditioned rooms that soothes after a busy day.
I stayed there during a friend’s art exhibit, and between the vibrant murals and cozy beds, the location is great, right next to Madison Square Park and the Moxy NYC Chelsea, making it the ideal spot to explore NoMad.
The rooftop at Broken Shaker is where time simply slips away; the tacos and margaritas won me over, and the view of the city is perfect. If you are a drink snob, go there just for the ICE!
The Comodo restaurant, on the ground floor, serves wonderful Latin dishes; the spicy ceviche is still in my taste buds. The hotel’s art workshops are a real treat.
The restaurant and bar keep the mood high the whole time. With rooms ranging from $250 to $400, free Wi-Fi, and a concierge who can help you with subways, trains, and even tours of the East Village, it’s a solid choice.
It’s easy to get to Central Park or Madison Square Garden, and LaGuardia Airport is a stone’s throw away.
Why it’s a win: A vibrant immersion into the Flatiron art and nightlife scene.
My take: Grab a margarita at Broken Shaker’s happy hour, then head down to Books of Wonder on 18th Street for souvenirs.
Why Stay in Flatiron?
Flatiron isn’t just a dot on the map; it’s where New York City shows off its most authentic charm. I’ve seen the neighborhood blossom in recent years.
I am biased, as I live here, but it’s my favorite part of the city, and you can walk to the markets in Union Square (all farm to table stuff) or dive into the organic pasta at Eataly.
The location is gold: with subway lines that quickly take you to of Times Square, Central Park, or Rockefeller Center.
But the truth is, once you’re in Flatiron, you might not want to leave. Picnics in Madison Square Park, hidden galleries, and cafes with views of the Empire—it’s an itinerary that can be created on its own.
And with subways, Penn Station right nearby, access to LaGuardia Airport, getting around is easy.
These hotels in Flatiron put you in the center of it all, with free Wi-Fi for real-time storytelling and concierge services that can point you in the direction of everything from MoMA exhibits to a jazz bar in the West Village.
And the best part: the restaurants here are the ones that we locals actually frequent, so you arrive well-informed.
Tips for Your Flatiron Stay
My first tip?
Book in advance; prices go up in the spring, especially at trendy hotels like the New York EDITION. To get around, take advantage of the subway.
From LaGuardia Airport (LGA), the best option is to take an Uber, as taxi’s from this airport are metered and it is not a flat rate like from JFK.
Tipping is not like in Europe or Latam, it is usually 20%.
By the way, talk to the staff at the front desk; they have good tips on stuff like tickets to shows at Madison Square Garden and other tourist type guidance.
Wear comfortable shoes, because walking between Union Square, Broadway Plaza and Eataly is part of the charm. And of course, post your photos from the rooftops, the Flatiron was made to shine on your socials.
Best Flatiron Hotels: Why Flatiron’s Your NYC Must
The Flatiron District is pure charm, with parks in bloom, streets pulsing with energy and that neighborhood feel that only New York can offer.
Choosing one of these best hotels in Flatiron means staying right where I live: just a few steps from the original Shake Shack (yes, I overdo it on the fries done “animal style”) and Eataly, where I frequently have dinner.
Room prices vary, but they all deliver what matters: good wifi access, clean spaces, concierge services ready to guide you, and that feel that mixes luxury with the real face of New York.
Flatiron has become the darling of the city in recent years, with every corner having a point of interest, a store worth the entrance fee or an solid restaurant.
In the summer, the Nomad concerts take over the neighborhood, and you’ll be in the center of it all. The subway lines will take you to Central Park, Times Square, or MoMA in no time.
