The Flatiron District is my home turf, and it’s packed with spots that serve up more than just a meal—they’ve got personality and some of the best views in town. Here’s where I’d send you first.

1. AMALFI Rooftop by BIRRERIA – Southern Italian Dining Above Eataly

Tucked above Eataly at 200 5th Ave, AMALFI Rooftop by BIRRERIA is like a little Italian getaway in the heart of the Flatiron District. The decor switches up with the seasons- think flowers in spring or cozy vibes in winter, so it never gets old.

The food’s fresh, and the craft cocktails? Made with natural ingredients that hit just right. Hop off at the 23rd Street Subway (right by Madison Square Park), cross the street, and you’re there. Open weekdays 11 AM–10 PM, weekends from 11 AM.

🍽️ Must-Try Dish: The house-made pasta with ragu—it’s rich and hearty, like a hug on a plate. Or try the polenta bar for something fun.

🍸 Why Visit? It’s got a stylish ambiance that feels like dining in a Tuscan garden, minus the plane ticket. Perfect for a chill night out.

2. 230 Fifth – The Rooftop Everyone’s Talking About

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve hit up 230 Fifth at 1150 Broadway, between 26th and 27th Streets. It’s hands-down NYC’s most famous rooftop restaurant, and for good reason. Those heated igloos in winter?

Genius. You get the outdoor rooftop bar vibe without turning into a popsicle, plus killer views of Midtown Manhattan, the Empire State Building, and Times Square. Walk from 28th Street Station.

Walk-ins are welcome, while reservations are available for certain seating and larger groups!

Working hours vary: Monday to Thursday go from noon until 1:30 AM; Friday starts at noon and the last entry is at 2 AM. Saturday begins at 11 AM, and the last order is at 2:30 AM with a 4 AM closing; Sunday starts at 11 AM, and the last order is at 1:30 AM.

🍽️ Must-Try Dish: The truffle mac & cheese. Comfort food doesn’t get better than this, especially with that view.

🍸 Why Visit? It’s got the best Manhattan skyline views and a friendly venue policy that makes it a great spot for any occasion.

3. Manhatta – Sky-High Vibes in FiDi

Down in the Financial District at 28 Liberty St, 60th Floor, Manhatta is 60 floors of pure wow. The glass-enclosed bar gives you breathtaking views of Lower Manhattan and the East River.

Their signature cocktails are inspired by NYC neighborhoods—how cool is that? Go for lunch or pick a three- or four-course dinner. Lunch service is from 11:30 AM to 2 PM daily; Dinner is from 5 to 9:30 PM from Sunday to Wednesday and until 10:30 PM from Thursday to Saturday. The bar opens daily at 11:30 AM

🍽️ Must-Try Dish: Check if the dry-aged duck with cherries and black garlic is still on the menu. It’s fancy but so worth it.

🍸 Why Visit? Perfect for a special occasion, with an à la carte menu and panoramic views that’ll leave you speechless.

4. RH Rooftop Restaurant – Luxe Living in Meatpacking

Over at 9 9th Ave in the Meatpacking District, RH Rooftop Restaurant is next-level. Crystal chandeliers, lush greenery, and water features make it feel like a posh escape, with High Line views to boot.

It’s steps from 14th Street / 8th Ave station, open weekdays from 11:00 AM and weekends from 10 AM, closing at 10 PM every day. Reserve online to skip the line.

🍽️ Must-Try Dish: The truffled grilled cheese. Simple? Sure. Amazing? You bet.

🍸 Why Visit? Floor-to-ceiling windows and a beautiful view make it a top pick for a romantic rooftop restaurant.

5. Westlight – Brooklyn’s Hidden Gem

Cross the river to Williamsburg and hit Westlight at 111 N 12th St, on the 22nd floor of The William Vale. This indoor lounge serves up craft beer, small plates, and signature cocktails, all with unreal views of the East River and Manhattan skyline. Take the subway to Nassau Ave, and note that it’s strictly 21+ after 6 PM.

Hours are from 4 PM to 12 AM on Mondays through Thursdays, with Fridays ending at 1 AM. Saturdays go from 12 PM until 2 AM, and Sundays start at noon and end at midnight.

🍽️ Must-Try Dish: Tuna tartare with sesame crisps—light, fresh, and delish.

🍸 Why Visit? Outdoor terraces shine in warmer months, and the trendy Brooklyn vibe is unbeatable.

6. Electric Lemon – Sleek Eats at Hudson Yards

On the 24th floor of the Equinox Hotel at 33 Hudson Yards, Electric Lemon is all about modern design and modern takes on American classics. The open kitchen and slick bar keep it lively, with Hudson River views as the backdrop. It’s near the 34th Street Subway Station—book ahead!

🍽️ Must-Try Dish: Berkshire pork chop with apple mustard. Tender, flavorful, unforgettable.
🍸 Why Visit? A killer drink menu and that outdoor rooftop terrace bar make it a standout.

7. Ophelia – 360° Views You’ll Never Forget

Atop the Beekman Tower at 3 Mitchell Pl, Ophelia is a hidden gem with a glass-enclosed bar offering 360° views of the city. Seasonal menus and live music keep it fresh. It’s a 10-minute walk from 51st Street Subway Station.

🍽️ Must-Try Dish: Wagyu sliders with truffle aioli—perfect for sharing (or not).

🍸 Why Visit? A stylish ambiance, rare spirits, and a signature cocktail list that’s fire.
